Joanne Neiderhoffer AS’53 remembers how much her late husband Harold loved Peddie.
“Harold felt that Peddie did a lot for him and made him a better man,” she said. “He had high esteem for Peddie and its values and what he learned.
“He was also serious about providing for us in our senior years.” In 2000 the couple established a charitable remainder unitrust (CRUT), which helps maintain or increase income while making a significant gift to Peddie. The Neiderhoffers’ trust principal has grown and so has Joanne’s income from the trust.
“Peddie meant so much to Harold and he meant so much to me, that I’m happy to be able to continue his legacy,” she said. “If you can, it’s a good thing to carry on.”
